The first thing we see, after the recap of last week’s episode and the opening credits is an armored van driving up to Parsons and a guard in a bullet-proof vest getting out. Cut to the runway. Designers are wondering what the next challenge will be when they see the silhouette of the armed guards and when the guards step out onto the runway, the designers groan. All of the designers are freaked out by the fact that they have guns. Justin guesses “military”, Alexandria says she’s a little scared, and Alexander makes this face: The next silhouette we see behind the Project Runway screen, strikes an equal amount of fear in our designers. It’s Heidi and the dreaded ‘button bag’. Does this mean teams? Are they dressing military or police officers? Heidi welcomes the designers and acknowledges that they might be wondering why the armed guards are there. She’s about to give them MILLIONS of reasons. Montage of very sparkly jewels! Necklaces! Earrings! Bracelets! Diamonds! The models come out onto the runway wearing those slinky black slip dresses and tons of fancy diamond jewelry. Jeremy is really excited about this challenge as soon as he sees the diamonds. I have a feeling the special word of the week, replacing “sustainability” from last week is going to be “diamonds”.
