That’s the main point. Damn those cold fish.So the Masterchef symbol appears for an episode I have been dreading. It’s presence destroys the last semblance of Masterchef (US) being a cooking competition, and instead makes it a popularity contest./rantoff Gordy bangs on about how things can change in an instant and they aren’t cooking. Even Juggy slowly realizes what this means. So the upshot is this year, each judge gets to pick one returner to get a chance to come back. Last year, Gordy gave us a poignant speech about how America was the land of second chances so these losers needed another go. Not this year, possibly as someone pointed out that characterizing America as the ‘land of losers’ wasn’t quite the message we wanted. No, this year it’s more brutal. Each Judge gets to pick one prospective returner. So immediately there is scope for this being even more hellishly unfair than last year – and it is. I found myself wanting Beth to come back, which surprised the hell out of me, but there is no real hope of that. So they start picking. Gordy picks Bri, which is a little surprising but what the hell, if we’re going to do this lets make sure the three returners are people I like! She bounces in, saying ‘Did you miss me?’ Speaking to Juggernaut I think. I love this girl. I can hear Juggernauts teeth grinding from hereBastage picks Lin, which is not a surprise. Despite a few wobbles that unseated him, he was a strong contender. A fairly pleasant person too so no quibbles here. The mini’s see him as the biggest threat to them, and that’s probably true.
