Okay I’m totally kidding, because Liz never smiles. NEVER! And she’s engaged to Flavor Flav, so that’s real commitment to being a miserable person. That’s not a smile, by the way. She’s just gassy. That’s a quiet burp happening here. So it’s the next day and Flav and Liz aren’t even talking to each other. It’s affected the whole house, and everyone is kind of fed up with her strange and petulant behavior the night before. Particularly, our favorite Teen Mom couple just makes me love them more as Tyler says that he’s over all the immature behavior and they need to grow up. And you know Tyler has had to parent his own father who’s a drug addicted mess, so Tyler doesn’t suffer fools very easily. And to that I say, Huzzah my young friend! Preach it. Joe tells us that “She’s below me and I don’t want to be associated with someone like that.” Because he’s royalty you know, the King of all Douches. So today in group therapy they are talking about their “rock bottom” moment in the relationship. Flav and Liz open up and tell the story about the Flavor of Love shows. Flav tries to minimize the impact, but we find out that they’d been together for over eight months when she found out about the show through someone else. She says she was crushed he never told her about a show to find “his true love.” The face of true love. (I do not believe she is 37. No way) He scolds her and says, “I told you not to watch it, but you did it anyway.” Jenn says that’s an interesting concept, because it’s totally flawed. Jenn says he may have had good intentions, but he dismisses the pain she expresses regarding the hurt in the relationship and he needs to dial in. Something tells me though, that there’s probably a new shitstorm every other day with this frowny faced weirdo. She’ll never be happy. Maybe that’s what keeps them together. The constant performer with the hard to please wife. Moving on, our next couple Catelynn and Tyler. Catelynn and Tyler express how their rock bottom moment came about a year ago when they had a big blow up about Catelynn’s lying. No shocker to those who follow the show, but her mother used to make her lie for her all the time and Cat learned that it was best to just lie in order to make people happy. She’s a people pleaser who is afraid of abandonment and ohmygod it breaks my heart. I’ve seen how this plays out in adults with their kids, and I hope Catelynn gets some really good therapy on a weekly basis to address these issues of insecurity and abandonment before it slowly takes her world apart as she gets older.
