Hey Trashies! Here we are, at episode 4 already of this action-packed season of MDLNY. Let’s get right to it, shall we?
We open with Luis telling Ronita he wants to create his own line of emoji. She asks what his action would be.
Wiggledy-finger Smileyface, of course!
Jordan comes in to discuss the Williamsburg listing. Luis says it was messed up what he did — he made Luis look bad, and like he had no authority! Jordan makes excuses for himself, but Luis says he’s ready to walk.
Jordan apologizes for not being a team player, and all of a sudden Luis wants to dance. So they agree to move forward — only Luis will do so backwards and in high heels.
On to Fredrik, who’s meeting Mona, a developer friend who has a project in Williamsburg. She’s converting an old noodle factory sitting beside the bridge into lofts.
She shows Fredrik a model unit, which is quite stunning, but then he notices the bridge out the bedroom window.
“Gadzooks!”
Mona says she loves the bridge, but Fredrik thinks it could be polarizing. It’s an iconic bridge, for sure, but who wants a sweaty bicycle commuter watching you put your robe on? Fredrik is WAY past that point in his career.
Time to talk business. Mona says she sees Fredrik everywhere, his name is up in lights, but why should she think about engaging him in Brooklyn? Fredrik says he’s all about Brooklyn, and also, he knows a new development better than anyone.
She gives him a little test which he passes with flying colors, so they talk price. He’s thinking $1350 per square foot (35% above average). She says she’s thinking $2000. He says no way, so they settle on $1500, on condition she give him all 60 units, which yields a $3 million commission.
Fredrik says it won’t be easy, as Mona can be suffocating at times.
“Kuhghklklhh!”
On to Ryan, who’s meeting a developer named Ward in the very desirable Upper West Side. Ward is selling a monster townhouse he renovated and can’t unload. Ryan wastes no time getting creepy with Ward’s little daughter, Caroline. “My, aren’t you pretty!” he says. They shake, and he compliments her grip.
So this gargantuan pad has been on the market at $18 million for over three years. Time for the walk-through. “Are you ready?” Ryan asks Caroline with a smirk. “Yes,” she says, and off they go.
The basement floor was excavated to expose original Manhattan bedrock, and a “Mission Impossible” wine cellar was installed. “This is your favorite part of the house, right? Isn’t it? The wine cellar?” he asks Caroline. “Uh huh,” she says.
“I knew it!” says Ryan. “Hehehe.”
“Please don’t leave me alone with him, Daddy”
