The Real Housewives of Dallas Recap: Brandi Has A Husband?

Let’s just dive right on in to this week’s episode.

We pick up where we left off last week with LeeAnne emptying her glass of champagne onto the ground, and then breaking her champagne glass. LeeAnne is apparently so mad at Brandi, that her only 2 options are to cry or “kill the bitch.” I feel like walking away like a mature adult could have been another option, but then again this is on Bravo.

LeeAnne leaves the restaurant and Tiffany follows her to the street. This scene gave me flashbacks of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 2 when Sheree and Nene chased Kim onto the street, and then Sheree pulled Kim’s wig (she just wanted to shift it a bit).

Anyways, this interaction started at 100, so it went from 100 to 1000 in a matter of seconds.

LeeAnne accuses Tiffany of coordinating the argument between her and Brandi, which is kind of true, and Tiffany pushes LeeAnne while claiming to have her back (?). During this fight, it became apparent to me that LeeAnne is either a really good actress (lol), or she is a sociopath. I’m going to assume the latter option is true, because LeeAnne was doing that thing where when you’re in a fight and someone else is getting heated and yelling at you, you essentially just stand back and smile. That lasted for a few seconds until LeeAnne lost her whole entire damn mind.

LeeAnne-Attacks

LeeAnne-Attacks-2

I have been watching The Real Housewives franchise since we first met Vicki Gunvalson during the first season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and I cannot remember another time that a housewife viciously attacked a cameraman. Am I having a memory lapse? Let me know in the comments, but I was shocked/fascinated with LeeAnne’s breakdown during this scene. I cannot wait for the reunion just to hear her explain her way around this.

Back inside the restaurant, the ladies are trying to process what had just gone on, and I think Cary described it perfectly. Cary described their group as a herd of gazelle, and Stephanie is the baby gazelle in the back with a hurt leg, and when LeeAnne saw that weakness, she went in for the kill. The thing about LeeAnne is she knows who to pick her battles with. She wouldn’t dare pick an actual fight with Brandi, because she knows Brandi would not back down and put up with her bullshit.

So, after attacking a crew member, LeeAnne then attacks a bus,

Bus-Hit

takes her shoes off,

Shoes-Off

and walks barefoot to somewhere.

Also, did you all notice that LeeAnne’s friend Erica was carrying a cane?

So, it’s the morning after Hurricane LeeAnne, and Stephanie, Tiffany and LeeAnne are all rehashing the drama of the night before with their husbands/man who won’t marry them. I’ve seen a lot of conversations between a husband and wife in my days, but I have never seen someone as disinterested as Stephanie’s husband.

Then again, he’s more interested than Brandi’s husband, because were even is he? We’ll get to that later.

Basically Stephanie and Tiffany are both upset about what happened the night before, and LeeAnne is delusional. LeeAnne is sitting with one of her dogs and her boyfriend who won’t marry her, and she was obviously in a full blackout during the previous nights events, because she is not remembering anything clearly.

RHOD S1E5 4Oops.

First, LeeAnne tried to defend her actions by blaming her childhood. I don’t think being abandoned as a child is an excuse to attack a cameraman, but that’s just me. Then, LeeAnne claims she didn’t say more than 2 words last night on that sidewalk, and even her dog knows that’s a lie.

Then we move over to Brandi, and she’s prepping for her grandfather to visit. Do people care about this storyline? It’s, like sad I guess, but I just don’t think it adds anything to the show.

Remember last week when LeeAnne was telling the Queen of Charity about this event to help women who are HIV positive? I don’t recall her mentioning that said event would be a swap meet in a parking lot.

RHOD S1E5 6

I guess this was some type of clothing donation, but I mean, they couldn’t have rented out a school cafeteria or something? Anyways, the big drama here was supposed to be that this would be the first time Tiffany and LeeAnne would be seeing each other since their fight on the sidewalk when LeeAnne attacked a cameraman.

Now, I have basically been against LeeAnne this entire time, but I have to take her side in this instance. Tiffany arrives at the swap meet, doesn’t even look in LeeAnne’s direction, walks right past her, and then in her interview segment, Tiffany talks about how hurt she is that LeeAnne didn’t acknowledge her. Girl, you walked right past her like she was wearing Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak.

Cary stops by and barely acknowledges LeeAnne while running in to give Tiffany a hug, and when Tiffany goes and speaks to the woman next to LeeAnne, LeeAnne walks away. I am hoping, for Tiffany’s sake, that the editors moved her comments about that moment to when she first arrived.

Also this week, it’s Stephanie’s anniversary. Her husband bought her a diamond bracelet that costs most than I make in a year.

Honestly, Cary and her husband weird me out a bit, so I’m going to be brief with them. Because Cary’s dress got champagne on it when LeeAnne began her breakdown, Cary’s husband bought her some hideous zebra patterned Roberto Cavalli minidress. Later on, Cary gives herself and her husband botox.

After the swap meet, Tiffany called LeeAnne. She got LeeAnne’s voicemail, and left her a message saying how she felt uncomfortable at the swap meet/clothing donation, and she didn’t like where they were at. Tiffany and LeeAnne met at a restaurant, and LeeAnne apologized before she even sat down.

Has she apologized to the cameraman yet?

Anyways, they made up.

The last scene of this week is a barbecue that Brandi is throwing for her family since her grandfather, and his wife Carol, are visiting. I’m not sure what happened to Carol before their arrival in Dallas, but she’s rocking a cast and a crutch.

While all of her family is gathering at her house, everybody keeps asking where Brandi’s husband is. Apparently he was traveling for business, and he was meant to land and be home in time for the barbecue. Stephanie, under no coercion from the production team I’m sure, calls her husband to find out when he’ll be arriving at the barbecue. To both Stephanie and Brandi’s surprise, Stephanie’s husband will be there shortly as he’s just having a drink with Brandi’s husband. Y’all, Brandi was pissed.

Stephanie’s husband arrives with Brandi’s husband, who according to Brandi is drunk. They do not even greet each other, and as Brandi’s husband walks around the party greeting the guests, we keep cutting back to Brandi chewing feverishly.

Meanwhile, Brandi’s step-grandmother Carol is shady, and she knows exactly what’s going on.

Next week Brandi’s husband full on walks out on her during what looks like it was supposed to be a romantic dinner.
