This episode, called “June 13th, Part Two” (DRINK!) bounces around more than the Donald’s toupee on a windy day. We went from a slow, dragging plot line to being shot out of a damn cannon! So keep up!

Erica puts on a pouty face as she speaks to press about those horrible EVOS and Mohinder Suresh being a terrorist and an assault on humanity, blah, blah, blah. BTW – I was thinking – why would EVOs blow up a summit that promotes EVO understanding? Can’t explain that, writers. Just like you can’t explain the humongous plot holes in this whole damn series. Quentin the Dork rushes by looking for Phoebe. No – not that Phoebe.

If we all could sing “Smelly Cat” together, the world would be a better place..

Erica and Harris (Prime) enter hospital. Prime will look for Claire, and Erica will look for more photo ops. Future Noah follows Erica, followed by Noah Present, who spots him in the chaos. Present tackles Future as he’s about to do us all a favor and kill Erica, and Erica gets hit..

IN THE AZZZZZ!!!!!

Okay, so it’s her upper, upper thigh and not her ass. Damn you, network censors! The Noah twins dive into a nearby room, but not before Erica sees them. The men discuss timelines and grandparents’ rights in an EVO world (just kidding). Quentin, (as if he already knew that Erica was headed that way..) drags Erica into the stairwell he was hiding in, and ONCE AGAIN falls for Erica’s BS re: his sister. He takes her for medical attention. The Noah twins, along with Molly and Mr. Penny Man (HEY! his name is Caspar!) decide that Future Noah and Molly will attempt to locate Hiro and Caspar will use one of his pennies to erase Present Noah’s memory. Molly and Future Noah get away, but that pesky Harris Prime knocks Caspar out and takes Noah captive.

Hiro the Second and Angela made it with the babies to 1998, but are still in Odessa. Angela commands: “Take me to my Swiss chalet!” Oh – if I had a dime for every time I’ve said that – I’d have nothing, frankly. Alas, no manner of eye-squinting is going to make that happen. Hiro, who’s holding Nathan, realizes baby boy is messing with his powers. Angela say the boy is a “Petrelli”, whatever that means. He’s also the reason Claire died, as he took her powers as well. Not even one day old and already a murderer. Hmmph. Angela leaves with baby Melina and Hiro gets his very first Father’s Day present.

Welcome to fatherhood, Hiro.

Just to make sure we didn’t forget about him,  we see BatCarlos at a hearing with Farah being questioned about a skirmish involving the Taliban. Carlos gets the credit for saving the unit when it was Farah and her EVO power who saved them. Later, we learn that Farah and Carlos WERE a couple. I say were because Farah is getting the hell outta Dodge. Carlos is clearly upset that he got a medal for something he didn’t do. (Guess that’s explains his present behavior.) Because this show is beating us over the head with platitudes, Farah intones, “If you’re uncomfortable with an honor you don’t deserve, live up to it.” She’s off on a long-term, undercover babysitting job. Carlos has the sads.

Present tense Noah is being held in a basement hospital storage room when Greg Grunberg from Alias shows up to read his mind! I didn’t watch the original Heroes, remember? Matt (from the original series) has sold his soul to Renautas. Noah takes off his glasses – are they some kind of shielding device? – and Matt learns of Claire’s death in childbirth. He is upset for Claire, and tries to continue, but someone rolls a penny under Noah’s foot and – poof! Harris then attempts to shoot Noah, but don’t discount the strength of a man who spends his time carrying a suitcase full of metal. Greg grabs Harris’ gun, but sets them free. Thanks, guy from Alias.

HR08PennyMan

Penny for your thoughts….

The Penny Man leads Noah outside and gives him another penny for good measure. A now confused Noah is yelling for Claire and is led away by a concerned volunteer (who later becomes his fiancee). Outside is a mess of charred cars and scattered bodies. Luke and Psycho Joanne are at the medical tent, where segregation is alive and well (humans on one side, EVO freaks on the other). They find their son’s body, and Joanne’s slow descent into the serial killer we all know and hate begins. They return to their hotel room, and that Mr. Freeze EVO kid arrives to thank Luke for saving his life. Of course, Joanne decides that Luke traded his son’s life for an EVO. She grabs him, he throws her off, Luke attacks him and Joanne finishes him off . Blood spurts everywhere and a serial killer is born.  They really did find a properly creepy-looking actress for this role.

What men find attractive these days…smh

Over in Tokyo, Hachiro is watching TV. After hearing that Hiro is aligned with Mohinder, he calls Erica, because he’s confused.  As we all know – bad move. Harris tells Erica that there is another Hiro.  She hangs up and tells Harris to take care of Hiro and Hachiro. As Hachiro finds himself denied access to Evernow, he realizes that perhaps Erica is up to no good. He creates a living “backdoor” to his program. How he does this is not quite explained. I’m talking about Katana Girl. I didn’t realize you could create people from a computer program. That gives me some ideas…

HR08Hachiro

Check Amazon for one of these hands..

Not only is Katana Girl the means to free Hiro, but she unknowingly gives Hachiro a part of his family back.  Eventually, Harris ruins everything by showing up. Before he leaves, Hachiro thanks Miko for putting a smile back on his face, and reminds her that the sword is the key.  Aw.

Did I mention – Erica decided to do something SHOCKING by keeping her promise to Quentin to see Phoebe. Phoebe, however, has smelled what the Rock was cookin’ and thinks Erica is a savior.  I guess Phoebe sees her as a mother figure. What a shame..

Molly and Noah find Hiro the Second living with a now teenage Tommy and his mom (the nurse that handed him the twins). Boy, how time flies! Seems like it was yesterday… wait – it WAS yesterday.

HR08HappyFamily

Aw…

Nathan is excited to meet his granddad, and is ready to kick some Renautas butt. Hiro has been training Nathan, and has found that Nathan can only absorb and hold one power at a time. Noah and Nathan decide to take a quick trip to see his sister, but dammit if that pesky cockroach Harris bursts in and takes Nathan hostage. That lasts about 10 seconds as he transports the robot to the other side of the room where granddad shoot him right between the eyes. Noah and Nathan arrive to a lovely summer day in the Swiss Alps. They see Melina with some women that look like nuns doing something to a rose bush. Angela greets them but wants Nathan to remain hidden so as not to mess with Melina’s powers. Floating rose petals is not a great EVO power, if you ask me. Noah tells Angela he might have messed up the timeline by shooting Erica in the ass. Angela tells Noah her visions of a burning world and the twins under a clock tower in Odessa at 11:53. She takes Nathan’s photo so Melina can identify him when the time comes. They return to and he and his mom need to skedaddle.  Later, Farah arrives at the chalet to begin her babysitting duties.

Noah and Nathan return home. Noah tells Molly to hide and keep her EVO eye on the twins, and Molly asks Nathan to zap her to India. She wants to tell Mohinder’s mom that he was set up. That was a nice touch. Sadly, she tells Noah that she’d rather die than help Erica.  After Noah is gone, more Harris clones show up because they’re just a bunch of home wreckers. Hiro tells Penny Man to keep watch over Nathan and his mom, and he’ll stay to finish what he started in the garage, dammit!  As the trio arrive on a deserted street, Nathan wants to go back and help his dad, but Penny Man decides it’s best to erase that memory, too. More sads.

Noah is transported back to Midian, Colorado, where Quentin is apparently alive! Wha?  After a brief reunion, Noah looks in the conveniently placed bushes for his gun. That gives Quentin time to phone ERICA and rat out Noah! I think we have a shape-shifter on our hands! Or – not.  See you next time!
