Helloooo, Trashistas! Oh man, Happy Friday! Well, by the time you read this it will be Saturday-ish. This was a LONG season. I barely remember any of those early players. Vytas? Shirin? Let’s recap the season:
Survivor fans voted for 20 prior contestants to get a second chance at the million dollar prize. Some fan selections were obvious (e.g., Woo, Joe, and Kelly Wiglesworth) while others were downright puzzling (i.e. Abi). For the first time, immunity idols were hidden at the challenges rather than inside the usual rotted trees. There were eleventy billion tribe switches before the merge, and Fish cried almost constantly because Joe kept winning immunity. And last week, in a phenomenon called “course correcting,” the universe made sure CrAbi had zero chance of making it any further in this game and sent her off to Ponderosa. I think that covers everything.
We start with the usual post-Tribal discussion at the camp. Keith isn’t pleased that Abi is gone because she was the perfect goat to take to the final three. Spencer tries to explain to Keith why that strategy crashed and burned, but Keith doesn’t seem to be listening. BK and Kimmi are swinging in the hammock and plotting their next move. Kimmi wants to convince Jeremy, Tasha and Spencer to split the next vote while she, BK and Keith vote off either Jeremy or Spencer. BK is on board with this plan.
After the credits, it’s time for the first immunity challenge. Each player must complete a giant staircase puzzle a section at a time. The higher they go, the farther they have to run to go get more puzzle pieces. It looks absolutely exhausting:
Nope.
Once the staircase is complete, they can move on to complete a slide puzzle. First to finish wins immunity. Everyone stays pretty even until the second section of the staircase is complete. Fatigue starts to creep in from running up and down the stairs. It doesn’t help that Jeff’s mouth is going nonstop. Finally, Spencer is first to make it up the steps and start on the puzzle. BK is close behind, and she takes a moment to look at the slide puzzle and resist the temptation to collapse from exhaustion:
Jeremy and Keith make it to the slide puzzle at about the same time, leaving Kimmi and Tasha behind. Just as Tasha and Kimmi start on their puzzles, Spencer completes his and wins immunity. Everyone congratulates him while taking giant gasps of breath. BK tells us that she and Kimmi HAVE to make a move to take out Jeremy or Spencer, otherwise they’re screwed. BK still has that immunity idol, though, so she stands a better chance at advancing than Kimmi does.
After the break, the tribe returns to camp. Tasha tells us that Spencer’s win is a good thing, since it ensured that Keith and BK have a chance to go home. She wants herself, Kimmi, Jeremy and Spencer in the final four. Kimmi reminds Keith he was going to help her “grab a water.” Good lord. Just say “Let’s take a walk” and quit insulting everyone’s intelligence, Kimmi. Spencer just nods and smirks. Kimmi lays out her plan to Keith: she’s going to tell JTS (I’m tired of typing out all their names, so I’m going with their first initials) that they need to split the vote between Keith and BK in case one of them has an idol. However, she, Keith and BK will blindside Jeremy. Back at camp, Spencer and Tasha are discussing Kimmi’s suspicious behavior with BK and Keith. Kimmi thinks she’s outsmarting JTS, but they’re onto her game. BK joins Kimmi and Keith and they finalize the agreement to vote for Jeremy. Next, Kimmi joins JTS and proposes that she and Tasha vote for Keith while Spencer and Jeremy vote for BK. Kimmi walks off, which leaves JTS to discuss what’s really going to happen: Spencer says there’s no way they can split the vote because Kimmi is obviously working with BK and Keith to orchestrate a blindside. Good on him for seeing through Kimmi’s plan. Jeremy doesn’t buy that Kimmi is working against them. Omg, WAKE UP, JEREMY. He pulls Kimmi aside to make sure she’s still on Team JTS. Kimmi tells us she knows she’s on the bottom of the JTS alliance, so she has to save herself. Now it’s Jeremy and Spencer’s turn to swing in the hammock and discuss strategy. Jeremy wants to split the vote because he trusts Kimmi. Spencer is like, “Nope, ain’t happening. We’re voting for BK.” Spencer doesn’t think BK has another idol to play.
Tribal Council: The jury arrives, and Abi shoots daggers at the tribe:
If that’s not a death glare, then I don’t know what is.
It’s not unlike how my cat looks at me:
