Leah
Leah’s old friend Kayla is back, and she has a baby, whose name is Wilder. There’s a lovely moment where Leah asks Kayla to keep Wilder that night, and she gets an automatic no from Kayla. Maybe Kayla saw the video of Ali falling on her face. Since everything is about Leah, she brings up the Ali video again. She tried to bring it up with Corey, and he is concerned. In fact, Leah uses the word concern and its variations at least 20 times in her 30-second rant, before being interrupted by the phone. It’s a novel, I mean text message, from Miranda, basically saying that she doesn’t appreciate being talked about like she’s the evil stepmother (somewhere in there I’m sure she reminded Leah that her own child is still an infant that requires a lot of attention, too). Kayla tells Leah she needs to be an adult and should be able to discuss these things with them without fighting. Leah takes that to heart and decides not to respond at all, because avoidance is the best way to handle conflict.
Hah! Like I’m ever going to leave you alone with my child.
Leah is thinking hard about how to respond to Miranda. She says that before therapy, she would have shot back at Miranda immediately upon receiving a text. Now, she thinks she should be friendly with her, since Miranda plays a motherly role with her children. Leah cries because she’s so proud of herself for going to treatment. She never knew she wasn’t raised right by Mama Dawn. I’m glad to see Leah attempt to take responsibility, but she is dragging her family under the bus over this therapy business.
Kayla’s baby is peak West Virginia.
Leah took a whole day to respond to Miranda, and it is double the length of the inciting text message. She reads part of her message, which I can’t believe she is able to, because her phone screen is completely destroyed. It says that when something comes up with the twins, she feels it’s appropriate to talk to Corey about it. She also thinks they should always listen to the girls, so that they feel comfortable expressing themselves. Well, that was a load of psychobabble that said nothing. It took her a whole day to come up with this?
Did Leah sit on her phone? How does it get this fucked up?
The next day, at Corey’s, he tells his nephew/dad/brother that he wasn’t sure what the big deal about the video was. He was impressed that Leah and Miranda had a civil, adult conversation about it. Corey feels they’ve been more civil since their new custody agreement. They will be going to court again soon to finalize the wording of the parenting plan. Corey and Miranda would like to go to co-parenting counseling with Leah so that they have a regular appointment to shit all over each other. It seems like counseling is the first thing that comes to these people’s minds when they have relational issues, which is admirable, but that has to be something the show pushes. These people are not well-adjusted enough to know that they need it themselves.
Leah has all three of the girls and plays a game with them that involves yelling random statements out about yourself, whether they are true or not. Ali once again is walking around with no wheelchair, so I’m just going to assume that they sold the wheelchair so that Jeremy Junior Addy could get her frosting fix. Later, Leah drops the twins off with Corey, and she is singing a different tune about the seriousness of the video, since Corey doesn’t seem too impressed by it. He explains that the upcoming hearing is not to change their custody terms, only the wording of it. It’s funny that Leah, who protested the objection to Victoria and her mother over and over again, now totally agrees with Corey.
Aleeah is learning some great hair-styling techniques from her mom, it seems.
Kailyn
Kail teaches Isaac about the wonders of combining pizza with ranch dressing. She asks Isaac if he thinks she’s doing a good job without Javi around. He says he is and doesn’t give a fuck about his mom. He misses Javi, but Kail sure doesn’t. Later, Kail calls her friend Princess Peach to tell her about lunch with Vee. She doesn’t really remember what they talked about except that Vee suggested Kail talk it out with Jo so they don’t fight so much. Kail is also going to talk with someone who graduated from her program who actually works in the TV industry to see what she can do after graduation. You’ll always have MTV, Kail. Is Kail going to be the first Teen Mom to have a real job? (Yes, Chelsea was an esthetician for a hot minute, but I’m not sure she still does it?)

Kail takes the boys to a place called Your Creation Station. Lincoln is still stuck on yelling “puta” all the time. Isaac says he can’t deal with Lincoln’s weirdness. They are painting ceramics. Kail asks Isaac if he thinks she or Jo should have any more babies. Isaac is not into that. She asks if he thinks she and Jo should hang out and be friends, and Isaac agrees.
I love that one of the boys requires his toy guitar be brought along for this!
Kail heads to New York to meet with someone who graduated from her program and has a real job. She calls him an alumni. Where the fuck are those college dollars going if you still don’t know that alumni is plural? They play her voice while a really well-dressed blonde is walking across the screen, and I get totally confused, but no, Kail is in a muumuu and leggings for an important networking meeting, which is as I expected. He takes her to the control room, and keeps repeating that it’s where the magic happens. Did nobody tell him he would be filmed for this? They head over to an empty dressing room, presumably because people are actually working everywhere else, and the alumnus, whose name is Kyle, asks her what her goals after graduation are. Kail wants to be an on-air TV host, but she also wants to support her family. Kyle points out that she has “connections,” aka MTV, and tells her not to be afraid to fail.
